Third, find images of your site.  You can use the same website and make additional image searches.  Find pictures of your site, inside and out, from every angle.  Find maps, diagrams, and blueprints of your site.  Look up the dimensions and size of your site.

FOURTH, MAKE A MODEL OF YOUR SITE.


- Your model should be between one and two square feet.
- Your model should replicate the dimensions and appearance of your site.
- Your model should have details, textures, and colors appropriate to your site.
- Your model cannot be made of perishable materials, no food!
- Your model cannot be too fragile or have parts that fall off when it is moved.
- Every member of your group must help make the model.


You may use: plastic, styrofoam, cardboard, popsicle sticks, legos, paint, glue, and model supplies.

FIFTH, YOUR WILL WRITE A ONE PAGE DESCRIPTION OF YOUR SITE

Use your notes to type up a description of your site.  Your write up should be separated into 5-10 sections.  You will cut out each section and paste it around the base of you model.  No bibliography or turned in paper is required.

CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE

This church marks the traditional site of Jesus' crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. It is located on a natural rock pinnacle, which at the time of Jesus stood just outside the city walls of Jerusalem.

KAABA

In 630 the Prophet Muhammad captured the city of Mecca and destroyed the 360 pagan idols that occupied the ancient temple of the Kaaba, recreating it as the centerpiece of Islamic worship and pilgrimage.

DELPHI

Nestled amidst the pine forested slopes of the sacred mountain Parnassus are the beautiful ruins of Delphi, the supreme oracle of the ancient Mediterranean world.  And etched into the rock of the forecourt, the declaration: Know Thyself.

MOUNT SINAI

RIVER GANGES

To the many Hindus along her shore, Ganga is a goddess and a river.  Her devotees ritually bathe in her waters.  The ashes of the dead are released into the holy river so that she might deliver their souls into new incarnations.

BODHGAYA

Buddhist pilgrims gather in Bodhgaya India to visit the Bodhi Tree, a sapling of the tree that Buddha meditated under and attained enlightenment.

CUZCO

One of the oldest cities in the western hemisphere - Cuzco was the political and religious capital of the Inca Empire and the spiritual navel of the Americas.

CHARTES CATHEDRAL

Chartres is a beautiful French Cathedral with a history of miracles and mysteries.

HAYYA SOPHIA

This enormous dome was first built as a Byzantine church by Constantine the Great.  Later it was painted over and became an Ottoman mosque.  Now the paint has been pulled back to reveal the original golden mosaics.

ST. PETER'S BASILICA

This giant basilica is the largest church ever built and the seat of the Catholic Church in Rome.
